August 3rd 1895 Camp started operations bright and early in consequence of a war_ whoop from the "rising generation" on their way to attend to the horses and cleaning the grounds. Breakfast at 8:40. menu Ham and eggs, stewed tomatoes, cucumbers, bread, milk, stewed cherries, coffee, butter. The morning was spent - fixing up the house . loafing in ham - mocks ec. breakfast: Ellen Thomas arrived before dinner to stay till Sunday afternoon. Five of our party Barb, Lib, Ernest Rob and Lawrence went to the creek to catch fish for dinner, but as they did not return till the meal was half over and with only half a dozen fish the size of sardines, the expedition was no good as far as m could see! Dinner at 1.30 consisting of roastchicken, boiled potatoes, fried apples apple sauce, bread, butter and cake. This meal like all the rest was a howling success. After it Charli Frank and Newton went home to vote and didnt return till 10:30 p.m. M spent part of the morning

in the parlor singing, playing ec and then there was a general scatteration for hammocks and naps. G.F.N. and Anna met for a bicycle ride to Carrolls' Manor and met Mr. Coultin on his way to spend Sunday at Folly. Supper was at 7:30. Menu ham, bread, preserves, iced tea, potato salad, black berry flummery, cake, milk & coffee. We danced sang and ate candy till late. When the hammocks again afforded opportunity for search lights and scouting parties, but it takes a thief to catch a thief, in Franks absence, they did not make any discoveries worth mentioning.

We are sorry to say that one of the party developed a cold that was very conducant to whispering in consequence of a sudden determination to discard, a gingham dress in favor of a more becoming but thinner one. Weather chor temperture 2 in the shade. (A.L.J.)

August 4th 1895 Sunday morning while the ladies are thinking about getting up miss Lillie Stabler giving them a long dissertation upon dreams {recuring?} &c. accursing some poor innocants of the latter heinous offense. when a fellows head is much lower than his heels how can he help disturbing others?

after this we are wide awake and proceed to dress - all ready for breakfast at 9:30 and march in. Breakfast : dried beef and eggs cooked to together, tomatoes a'la Sandy Spring, fried potatoes, bread, rolls, butter, apple sauce, variagated pickles : Md biscuits, milk and coffee.

It being decided at this meal that all would have to go back to the Springs and give up camping unless G.B. came to the house for cans and bring back water he said he would do so and with the assistance of the twins and Ernest, started, for the dairy.- all arrived in safety and waited with an excitement among the
