Dearest Mother;

Thanksgiving day and believe me I think it is the best one I have ever had - I have a lot to be thankful for first I am alive, second I just had a nice dinner - and third I have a lovely mother & home - over in little Mary land. the best of the three. I just took a walk over to Consdorf and bought 600 $ worth of "Y" goods and brought it back to the men and soon had the money back. This was the best that I could do for the men - chocolate soup cakes & cigarettes.

yesterday I went to Luxembourg and found a wide awake beautiful town with pretty girls & the town bedecked with flags. I saw wonderful buildings and some pretty ones too the stone arch of course is the most wonderful thing there - this is 200 ft. high and 280 feet across. sure is a genius. We had a lot of fair pricing things - candy $4 a pound- I didn't buy much. The German money is decreasing, the value a few days ago was 24$ now a mark is 17 c the same as a $ - the germans have nearly brankrupt this country
