Cold and cloudy, begun to snow about 2 oclock, snowed
until after night, then rained awhile: I went up to
John's awhile with Samuel and Debbie, I came back
to Spring Garden to dinner.

16^th 3^d day
Cloudy until after 9 oclock, then cleared off: Samuel
Debbie and their mother went home.

17^th 4^th day
Clear day: Dr. Briggs at Spring Garden awhile in
the morning: John and Alice brought me home in
the afternoon: a letter from Henrietta telling of cousin
Betsey's death, wants father and Lucy to go down:
William went to Washington yesterday home today
he went to Baltimore 1st. day, dined at Avondale
on his way, and home 2d day

18^th 5^th day
Clear day: father and Lucy made an early start:
Joe went to Washington: William at the Ashton shop
in the morning then up to Spring Garden for my
trunk, to Uncle Samuel's for potatoes in the afternoon
and to Bentleys to a little surprise, after supper:
went to the store and Harewood in the morning; Kate
and her friend Lizzie Hawkd here to supper.
