Clear Ther.42o SAT. MAR. 25, 1893 N.W. Wind

Clear weather at last. I drove over to Stiffler's to prescribe for Bernard Sheckels. Afternoon I took H in the Surry to Homewood to call. Jimmy Jackson came in the stage. Mr P Connell brought his little boy & had a tooth extracted. After supper J Jackson rode "Frank" over to Homewood to call. I went to the store. Luther Muncaster called and borrowed my guitar.

Clear & Cloudy Ther 37o SUN. MAR. 26th, 1893 SE & E Wind

I was called up last night or rather this morning at 1-o'clock by a messenger from Jno. Letheridges who wished me to go to attend a son of Lethbridges, who had been "cut" about the face a week ago. I sent some "styptic" but was not well enough to go out. Jimmy Jackson walked to Homewood after breakfast. Afternoon took Harriet, Dora & Edwd to cousin Mary Chandlee's funeral; she was buried beside her daughter "Lucy" in the Cemetery near "Riverside." It was very cool & a raw N E wind blowing. Jimmy Jackson called again after tea to say "good by." Edwd Kummer also called at the front door, but did not come in. He & Jimmy walking back to Edwd Bentley's together, Mrs Robison & Phil called in the evening.

Cloudy Ther. 39o MON. MAR. 27th,, 1893 NE Wind

I drove over to see B Sheckels again at Stiffler's. "Phil" going with me. Called at Ashton store. Kate Stabler met me there & had me to prescribe for her. She having been to the office to see me. Gideon Gilpin was also at the office to see me. Walked up to the P.O. and mailed "Money Order" for $6.30 (Six Dollars & thirty cents) to J J Hanna at "Colora" called at F Leizears to get him to make a "drawing board" for Edward Went up to the mill for corn meal. H recd: a letter from Willie saying he was coming home next Friday evening.

Clear Ther. 28o TUES. MAR. 28 1893 NW & NE Wind

Much colder to day there was ice formed in the horse bucket o n the kitchen porch during last night I washed the phaeton. & afternoon I took H over to Thos Lea's & also to Homewood. Called to see Eleonora Bell as we came home. Walked up to the store. & called to see Mr. Ridge at W Oldfield's. Fanny Peirce came afternoon to spend the night here. After supper I walked over to see Rachael Cash to get her to come to wash for H. Frank Robison went with me.

Clear Ther. 25 WED. MAR. 29th, 1893 SE Wind

Still quite cold but the weather is delightful, clear and more like October than March. Afternoon I drove over to Miss Martha Holland's to take Dora to call upon Miss "Mollie" Mathews but Miss Mathews & Miss Holland had gone away from home. I drove across to Edwd P Thoma's place to prescribe for B O Hardy's infant, they having sent for me this morning. Came home via Ashton.

Cloudy Ther. 42 THURS. MAR. 30th, 1893 S.E. Wind

Warmer but chilly & "Raw." Rachael Cash came to wash for H. Afternoon Mary T Bond & Caroline Bond were here, the former to consult me professionally & both for a social call upon H. Mrs. S Ellicott came to Mrs Robison's to spend the night and put her horse in our stable. Bro. Chas: came to attend the Negro Minstrel performance at the Lyceum, and Edwd: went with him.

Clear Ther. 40 FRI. MAR. 31, 1893 NW Wind

I was surprised to find it a clear morning, it turned out to be a beautiful day. Edwd went "fishing" with "the boys" from next door except "Phil," who drove Prof. Chas Stabler to Laurel Afternoon I sent "John" to Laurel after Willie who expects to reach there about 9 o'clk this evening. Leaving Wellsborough at 7 o'clk this morning I rode to Ashton with John & walked back. Miss Mollie Mathews & Miss Miss Holland called this afternoon. Also, a colored man from C F. Brookes with a bill for wood.

Cloudy Variable Ther. 55o SAT. APRIL 1st, 1893 Wind

Willie arrived with John about midnight last. Having left his truck in Balto to come by stage to day. I am feeling quite unwell & am afraid of getting the "grippe" again. Allan Farquhar called to see Dora on business for the insurance Co. Mrs B O Hardy sent us some eggs. & I sent some cough mixture for their infant. Willie walked to Edwd Peirce's to dinner. Afternoon I took Dora in the Surry & went after him meeting him on the road near Remus Hill's. I took the wheel of the wheel barrow to Fletcher Clark's to have tire cut. After supper G M Beal called and we came to an understanding about his bill, he paying me $1.00 and agreeing for me to get the ballance in flour at the mill, at the rate of two sacks or three sacks pr month until the bill is paid. The ballance due this evening being Five dollars.

Clear Ther. 45 SUN. APRIL 2d, 1893 NW Wind

Beautiful "Easter Sunday" Bro. Richard & Sister Lizzie called on way to meeting Dora & Willie went to church at Mechanicsville before dinner & to Brighton afternoon taking tea at E Peirce's. Hallie Bentley called to see Dora. I wrote to Sister Mary & walked up to the Post Office and toll house before supper. Am feeling better than I did yesterday & hope I shall escape the "grippe" this time if I can take proper care of myself for several days longer and not take cold.

Cloudy & Clear Ther. 30o MON. APRIL 3, 1893 Variable Wind

I was called up & drove before breakfast to Jno Lethbridges to arrest a hemerohage in the face of Jno. Lethbridge Jr: (Willie going with me.) I also went to see Bernard Sheckells, he having sent for me. Luther Muncaster came & dined here. Willie planted four rows of potatoes in the garden I walked to Ashton & rode home with Wallace Bond as he went to dinner. John Armstrong, a man who has charge of a fine "stock horse" at "Brooke Grove" was here for advice & medicine for "sore throat." Willie went home with Luther Muncaster to spend the night.
