discover was the slow but perpetual
decay of the shop itself.

In front of the shop our
host showed us a novel road
drag which he had recently constructed
and which had done
good work on the road to the
house as we saw in comming
to the club. It was made
with two pieces about six feet
long of about 3"x10" size, set up on
edge but sloping forward a little
and placed parallel about a
foot or so apart. These pieces
work [?] to the line of draft
so that the dirt is thrown to
the centre of the road. While
the tool looked to be inadiquate,
our host said it was all two
good horses could do to pull it
with a man standing on the
rear cross piece.

After supper, the subject
of Bill Miller's resignation was
again brought up and it was accepted
with much expression of regret and
with the hope that he will continue
to attend our meetings as often as
possible. The name of Maurice L.
Bentley was proposed for membership
to be voted on at the next meeting
of the club.

Questions.

C.L. [Gilpin?] is told that in [blinding?] a
ditch it is better to use new
rails of small size placing five
or six together than to use larger
timber or old material.
