After an interesting meeting we
parted hopiing all to meet again with
renewed energy and interest in Horti
-culture and in each other in the Spring.

April 7th 1874

The first meeting of our Horticultural
Society was held at Albin Gilpins.

It was nearly a full meeting, the members
from Hermon and Rock Spring being the
only ones absent. The guests present were
Joshua Gilpin and wife from Rockville
Mary B. Kirk and Anni F. Brooke and
A. Schofield The specimens were very fine
and the display of flowers remarkably
fine for the first meeting of the season
From Brooke Grove a fine bunch of celery
radishes large enough for the table pea
vines three inches high and a beautiful
dish of Pansies. From Sharon very fine Let-
tuce and a beautiful bouquet from the
garden. From Edgewood nice apples and
the finest Salsify that has ever been
brought to our meetings. Springdale a beauti-
ful dish of Greenhouse and other flowers
From White Hall a large basket of fine
