retary had not seen or heard of
including the lovely purple clematis &
yellow holly hocks which we do not
find in every garden.

A little farther on was the private
garden where all of the early things had
been planted & no doubt nurtured with
care.

Some of us had quite a journey to the
vegetable garden - rightly - named
Tipperary. There we found corn & a
large patch of potatoes, two rows of
which were planted by Cousins Elizabeth
& Frances themselves.

When one sees work like that done by
young women (?) What will they be able
to accomplish when they grow old!!
They are wonderful - wonderful!
Wordsworth says.
"A happy youth, & their old age
Is beautiful & free."
