will which identified him with all that is
good in our purpose.

Uniformly gentlemanly, and with urbanity
unchanging, our loss of this valued friend,
wise Counsellor and faithful executor of our
requirements brings a sense of deep personal
grief bereavement.

We extend to his sorrowing family our christian
empathy and pray they may be comforted by
Him who alone can sustain when human
supporters are removed.

While this is to go upon our records a copy
shall be sent to his bereaved companion &
also to the P.I. Co. in care of Mr. Derby.

The following was also adopted -
Whereas Mr. Richard Derby has been appointed
secretary of the P.I. Co.to fill the vacancy occa-
sioned by the death of Mr. F.S. Douty, and as
such an office brings him into close relations with
us in the work in which we are engaged
Therefore Resolved.
That we congratulate Mr. Derby on his
accession to the important responsibility assigned
to him and assure him that we feel confident
he will follow the example of his worthy prede-
cessor Mr F.S. Douty in giving the weight of his
position to the carrying foreward the good walk which
more than a quarter of a century has engaged
our attention & commanded our influence
