Allow me also to express the hope, that in forwarding the plans, and in bringing to fruition the noble object, to which he had given the later years of his life, some measure of balm may be meted out to you.

May the dear Lord, give him a

of your girlhood, the companion, of maturer years, the husband, who has shared with you your joys and sorrows.

Would that any words that I might offer could lighten your burden of sorrow and lift from your heart the mantle of grief, that now o'erspreads it.

Let the thought comfort you, that your loved one

blessed rest, and a glorious immortality. And with you dear Mrs Stanford,

"Love will dream, and Faith will trust That somehow, somewhere meet you must"
