We have a mortgage of ($7000), seven thousand dollars it is a great draw back to our work and if we could but raise that amount we would think we were the happiest congregation on earth. Would you help us, any amount that you might contribute would be gratefully receive [sic] and I am sure the Lord will abundantly bless you. Will enclosed [sic] a calendar with Pastor, Elders, and Trustees, if you wish

SPECIAL CHRISTMAS MUSIC will be rendered by the choir next Lord's Day, both morning and evening. THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING of the Ladies' Missionary and Aid Society will be held on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the church parlors. Mrs. D. T. Smith will lead. All the women of the congregation are most cordially invited to attend. THE CHURCH IS SUPPORTED by voluntary contributions, payable weekly or monthly. Envelopes for contributions will be found in the pews and may be placed in the plate at any service. Sittings can be secured on application to the ushers. ALL NOTICES for the Calendar must be in the Pastor's hands by Friday, 10 a.m.

STANFORD {GIFTS} CONFIRMED.

Widow Conveys to the University Legal Deeds Covering Former Bequests of $25,000,000.

San Francisco, Dec. 10. - Mrs. Jane L. Stanford Monday delivered to the trustees of the Leland Stanford Jr. University, two deeds of grant and one deed of gift. One of the deeds of grant covers all of the real estate heretofore given to the university, including the campus of about 9,000 acres. The other deed of grant covers the Stanford residence upon California street, which eventually is to be used for educational purposes. The deed of gift covers bonds and stocks heretofore given and securities not included in former gifts. Mrs. Stanford has given the equivalent of over $25,000,000 to the University.
