mind to go I intended to talked with the Doctor about it but having so much on my mind I forgot it & after we went I wrote 3 times to know if there was any mail come there for me if so I wished them to forward it but never have had one word from him since we left there the 15 day of last September. But we owe Septs we cannot pay My husband havent been able to do any work in over 2 years & it takes me a good share of my time to take care of him so I cannot help much. We have had so much to contend with we had to mortgage our home for a thousand dollars & now I am afraid it will have to be sold if only I can get some kind friend to help me to pay this off I think I could get along until our boy can help us. You who have known sorrow have you ever known what poverty is. I had expected so much of our girls but God thought best to take them the last one to die our Mary was seventeen years old & so bright & promisering [sic] would have graduated this year.
