I have just read of your generous gift to San Francisco to help those who are not able through lack of means to better their condition & am taking the liberty

of asking your generous help in my case though of a different nature.

For a long time I have had very bad health to contend with which has been a great financial loss to me & has now placed me in a position where I am only earning 5 dollars per week to keep myself and family ( 9 in all) & pay house rent & taxes.

In your position dear Madam you can scarcely understand the heartbreaking struggle it is week after week for me
