of her children and I was all she had to care for her and was not [contened] any place but in the old home She is almost [ninty] years old and if she lives a few years longer (my son has lost his education and I fear my daughter will) if I can not find some way in the City there is the High school but in the county we have to send to college at [exter[ expense and can do nothing to help them my son is twenty-four years old and is working helping me too for mothers sake I would like to make her last days her best but it is hard to deprive my children of what they need or what sacrifice I have made for her
I hope you will forgive but as [Chrismas] comes [evey] year it seems harder on me I will send you her name and if you send her any-thing you might say it was for her kindness to her Grandmother you present to her Please do not give to Press for public to know if you send her anything a mother.
