I can but admire the wisdom you have
both shown - in dispensing your great
gifts yourselves & not leaving it for
others who have not the same interest
in rightly disposing of the trust.
We came down here (the children & myself)
a week ago. The heat in Washington
was intense & we were glad to get a
breath of sea air. You have probably
seen that my daughters are in Europe
& I have the delightful charge of Mrs
McKee's children in her absence. Mrs
George B. Williams came down with me &
desires me to send her love to you. I am
very fond of her & you know what good
company she is. Again, my dear Mrs
Stanford I thank you for your last
gift & especially the kind thoughts which
prompted it. I wish a great deal of love
to yourself & good husband.

I am most sincerely your grateful
& loving friend
