Placerville Cal, Nov. 13,1888 Mr. Leland Stanford Dear Sir. I have two boys, aged 19 and 17 years that I would like to send to school. Will you please inform me on what terms they could enter your school - if it is yet opened. Owing to ill health I recently quit the [newspaper?] business in St.Peter. Minn. and came here. They were [typists?] in my office and here they cannot find work and would like to go to a good school. As I have only a small pension and have four other children to support, it is necessary to get the boys into as cheap a school as possible. By permission I refer to Col. J.K. Moore, private secretary to Gov. McGill, St.Paul, or to Hon. [?] Frasier Senator elect, from El Dorado county. Respectfully Yours John [Blackiston?]
