I can not resist sending to you and Mrs Stanford, greetings from this distand land, and heartfelt wishes, that the approaching New Year will bring to you both, the renewed health, happiness and prosperity, which you both, in the midst of your good works, so deserve.

In these wishes and greetings Ida, my wife, joins me, and our children, both, send their love to you and Mrs Stanford. We are all very well here, and like Vienna better and better as the time passes, in fact we sometimes feel that "our time" will be all too short. You see we are as human as other "Office holders" in that. This position is particularly congenial to my tastes,

I am feeling triumphant over the decree admitting American Pork into Austria. It was a great fight here, as Hungary raises pork also and opposed its being admitted into the monarchy.
