team on Thursday P.M. but yesterday in the first
regular game of the season Walter the regular
catcher played first base, as he had a sore arm
and couldn't go behind the bat. Sheean the captain
told me I was to play regularly after this. I umpired
yesterday. On Thursday & again yesterday [?]
Harrisson was not among the crowd of boys on the
line looking & yesterday he had Mrs McKee and
the little McKees on the benches. I guess he is enjoying
himself here immensely, as he walks around the
grounds and no one pays any attention to him. He
is in Dr Jordans old house now - Escindita Cottage
which is an awful pretty place near the stock farm.
Last night I went to Mrs Branley's at home and
had a very jolly evening playing cards. It has been
a glorious week & this morning I am sitting by
a wide pane window & the sun is as bright & the
birds are singing & it is glorious. Dont wish you were
West. San Francisco is the worst place, was ever in
Mr Rausmans is a little visionary I think and has
enjoyed it here becaue he had a responsible position.
Give my best love to Mother your loving brother
Sam
