Hi Sweetheart

Well I kind of spoiled you yesterday- 6 pages! Even if half (2/3) of it was
just an Antro paper, it probably felt pretty big when you got it! and
even to write two pages like this writing every day, is not too bad is it?
I'm doing my best to spoil you to keep you "on the string "! And one of these days
(or rather months or years) I'm going to really set the hook and then you'll be
mine (and vice versa) for life. This is all a pretty indirect way of getting around to
the fact that the #@*!! postman goofed up again and I didn't get a letter today.
And since nothing at all has happened in the last 24 hours I didn't have much
to say expect I LOVE YOU of course.

I drove the bus a good part of yesterday back and forth to Beulelsbach and or Endeusbach
about 2 trips in the morning 3 in the afternoon 3 after dinner the last ending at 12:30 am
This of course left little time to worry about studying etc. I got pretty tired about
10:30 so I lay down with my clothes on and slept until 11:50 then got up to go meet
the last train from Stuttgart. I don't drive again for a week or so, so I can live
normally and go back to studying at last- 3 days in one weekend was pretty heavy.

I was talking to Erica yesterday (she's our office secretary about 25 and really nice)
and she remarked that "the talk is" (i.e. by Dr. Boerner, etc) that our group was proving
to be one of the best year calling the 1st group for top honors! You may even hear this
on the grapevine back in California. One the surface we should be proud I guess but the
most common reaction is oh lets do something t change this quick!" I guess we don't
want to be goody-goody. Actually one reason they're is little friction and we
operate fairly well together is that we try (unconsciously mostly) to keep it pretty casual
to avoid devoting to much energy and emphasis to the group. Thus there is less need for revolt
by individuals who feel their individualism is being challenged (and in a group of such
"achievement motivated" people there are bound to be several individualists) It is a really
fascinating experience to live in a closely packed group of 68 of both sexes to study the
dynamics of this sort of living. We have to be very careful for example not to let temeprs
loose at each other since we live so closely together and there is no room for open dissension
therefor we divert our aggression to our class work (and bitch about assignments and
teachers) or to Beutelsback (and make private remarks about the people; this is less common
however because we feel guilty about it and don't want to upset the physiological security
of our close affectionate attachment a family which makes up for the need for our
own families and friends at home). Hence the group must be over friendly and unite
in aggression against "outsiders" and this gives the impression of a harmonious unity: But
not too group-oriented or else the tensions increase because of the greater involvement.
There friendly togetherness and casual the ideal group! How's that for a
quickly sociological theory of Group IV (private please!) I haven't mentioned
much of this sort of thing before because it sort of hard to describe in other than
