SUN AUG 9 '87 SUNNY ALL DAY 7:30 Hear Bob Leaving message on machine so I get up. Call him back, but not home, must've stayed at Ted's While in shower, he calls again. Missing me again. Finally we connect and decide to go for a hike. I have no real plan but decide to go somewhere over to Glacier Peak. 10:00 Go pick up Bob. See his new apt. [?] Not bad. Big with basement too and nice courtyard of flowers too. Just $385/mo. Drove out of town ASAP. Stop for munchies at some town. And good lunch in Darrington. Took Mountain Loop road and then drove off of it to White 1:30 Chuck Mountain Trail. It was a pretty hike but rather long and no real Majestic Views as I had hoped for. It was scenic. And Bob and I had good talks But it just seemed to take forever to get to the Hot Springs and the last 45 minutes were just too much. Really made me cranky. 3:45 But the Hot Tub was very nice when we got to it. Bob is so playful, listening to Bubbles. He certainly can put his cares aside. I was much too locked up to do so. 5:00 Walk on back. Seemed so much easier and enjoyable most of the way back. Sunny. Walking toward the sun, along the river, talking about everything, even porno. Last half hour was a little dull. 7:15 Finally reached the car and it seemed so powerful to drive after walking for such a long time. We drove toward the rest of the scenic drive which wasn't much [?] until the Pass that's closed in Winter, and there were some spectacular peaks there. Really awesome, but not beautiful wo/ snow.

DROVE ON HOME STOPPING IN GRANITE FALLS FOR LATE SUPPER. BOB ALWAYS HAS GOOD DICO TAPES PLUS REMEMBER TAPE OF MARIANN FAITHFUL, GIGOLO + GIGOLETTE, BLVD OF BROKEN DREAMS. THERE WAS A LOT OF INTERESTING FUN TODAY BUT THE HIKE JUST BARELY GOOD GIVEN THE LONG DISTANCE, 5 MILES. 11:45 TO BED

7:45 Get up. Misc. Yesterday's mail. Boil Eggs. 9:30 PLAN Think about the rest of the summer. No great desire to go to LA soon. Can do that after Labor Day without much loss. And no place to stay in Laguna, and have to stay in hotel. This weekend I must work setting up office, penciling changes to printer code, and doing personal accounting. And weather is not so great, so no Olympics.

Just be around for emergencies that week, but go to Russian River the weekend of August 28-31. Then return to Seattle for emergencies. No great desire to go to gay resort for Labor Day but maybe...
