My dear Sir,
I write these few lines to acquaint you that I have not forgotten you, but that I still remember you and yours in my prayers. You will hear from Mr Marsden how we are going on, and what are our prospects, which will render a detailed account unnecessary. I shall be happy to receive a letter from you. You will acquaint me with the health of yourself and family and any other news which you may deem interesting. Mrs Kendall writes in kind regards to you, Mr Hassall and all your children. I remain,
My dear Sir
Yours very faithfully,
Tho. Kendall
PS I intend, if God spare me, to write to you again when the Active returns.

Dear Brother,
An opportunity offering of sending you a line by Cap. Campbell I embrace it, to inform you of the state of things, among us, and these islands. You may possibly hear before this comes to hand of the lamented death of our Brother Scott, whome the Lord saw fit to remove from us and the Mission of the 9th of February last, after about six days illness, of a bowel complaint of which I have been so often laid up myself. This was a severe stroke to us and to the Mission because he was one that had a pretty good knowledge of the language and could convey instruction in a plain and intelligable manner to the poor natives
