to England, a pretty amiable
German Girl his daughter –

What has pleased me best
in this excursion has been
Nuremberg, one of the most curious
old Cities in Europe – It abounds
in fine Buildings, both civil
& ecclesiastical, & in works of
Art, which have descended
from the 14th - 15th & 16th Centuries
the period of its Wealth & Glory.

We descended the Danube from
Strasburg to this place by Water
The Scenery nearly the whole
way is strikingly beautiful, and
inferior only to that of the Rhine
if indeed it be inferior.

This is a very fine City, with
numerous fine Edifices – Gardens
Collections of Pictures &c – but to
see it thoroughly, so as to appreciate
fully its art Treasures, would
occupy a month, & we can
only afford it 3 days.

Owing in a considerable
degree no doubt to the Gold

Sorry, didn't know I had done that. Would you mind clicking the 'needs review' box when there are indecipherable words. Sometimes someone else can read them.
