I will not measure the demand by the value
of the property, but am willing to dispose of it
to the stock of Tennessee as a sum for below its
real value - And submit to the com-
mittee the following proposals - [vi-]

The subscriber, agent of Miller and Whitney
will relinquish and transfer to the legislature
of Tennessee so much of their patent rights
of the machine for separating cotton from
the seeds commonly called the saw gin, as
appertains to said state, upon the same
terms, and for the same consideration which
the legislature of North Carolina gave the
said Miller and Whitney for their patent
right to the saw gin for that state
