Gentlemen
In obedience to your favour of the 1st March
last have shipped for your Account on Board the Brilliant Capt Bennet for virginia Goods
as pr Invoice here with Sent. Accounting to £558,,5,,7 which wish Safe to hand & hope will
please have kept as near to your Scheme as possible There is not any herrings Non
pickled Salmon to be Got here at this time nor could [?]ling your Bear on Reasonable
terms Such a Small Quantity they would not allow the [Delivrince? (not likely, but maybe?)] Either for Glass or Beer
your Goods are sent to the Care of Mr Edrd Strebler petersburg Some Days ago I Receved
A letter from Said Mr Strebler of the 19th may covering Messrs Andrew & Rich.d Mackees
Drafts on Messrs. [Curning? Cumming?] McKinzie & Co value £100 ~ Said Bill is noted for none accordance
these Gentlemen Shy for want of Affect but if Remittance Come by the time it falls Due the Bill
will be paid when it Shall be placed to your Credit Mr. Strebler writes me that he
had purchased Another Bill £83,,6,,8 which will be sent me by Next [ucssell?]

I am much Obliged for your [very? every?] Good payment particularly at this time as
Money is Extremely Scarce owing to the Many failures at London & Some in this town
The Funds in this place has not been in Such Distress these hundred years past
I have found mySelf Obliged to Decline Serving Severall very Good Gentlemen for
Not [punctual?] Remittances our merchants must Now be paid when Goods fall
Due and when Obliged to Advance the money for any of my friends Suffer more than
all my commission Inclosed is your Account Currt: Ballance carried Now Amount

provence have lately charged Jurys not to Allow Interest on Accounts for which
Reason have Declined Shipping Goods on Commission for North Carolina I Refer
you to the Inclosed from Mr John Alston Jun:r and mySelf who I have admitted partner
