to Town for the 1st time in 3 or 4 months. Plim & Charley is
taking there trunk to the Depo. (Martha Jane's)
A murderer(
hung for) I went to Town saw a man in the Market house dead he had
Killing of(
Beckwell) been taken out of Jail last night & carried near Ed Williams
South of the Town & Just out of the corperation & there hung
until he was dead he hung there (near to the Fulaski pike)
until this morning & then carried & kept in the Market house
all day. This man killed a man near Frouce's 3 or 4 days ago
and robed him The murdered young man was named Beckwell, he
was living in Columbia with his father & family
Flour $4.00) I got today of Martin & Pollard 50 lbs of flour $4.00 (8lbs.

Sugar $2.00) of coffee .30 cts pr lb $2.40) $2.00 worth of Sugar (& 4 lbs.
