I learn there has come to Town & the County several thousand
U. S. Military) Yankeys putting up there tents on the Galston hill &
forces here) (
and all over) near Woodrides & many other places over the County. I
the County(
& sent to) supose now that Brownlow with his theaving & Robbing crew
different(
Countys by) can go to work at there old trade, taking, & distroying
1000s. The(
fruits of) thousands of dollars worth of property and laying it on
the mighty(
K. K. K.) the Yankey. I also hope that all those who have been
Beautiful(
K. K. K) giving incoragement aid & comfort to the deluded followers
(
) of the K. K. K. may be the suffers if any is occassioned
(
) by the operations of the Military forces now being stationed
(
) amongs us. I hope there may not be any serious dificulty
(
) but if there is let it fall upon those that has promoted
(
) the cause. This is my fervent wish. I have written this

) down upon my day book that at some future day my position

) be fully understood. With all that may wish to know my
