Porter's wife died the 21st Inst R W Porters ) wife Dead ) & that the family is broken up & have gone at present to Montgomery D E Lord ) Allabama Mr. Lord had an interview with Mr. Lyon the agent Lyons ) of the Qr M. Genl at Washington he says Lyons has reported me to the department favourable & Loyal but I had been reported twist disloyal See letter (30th June) filed Verry warm ) William not got home Verry warm I went to Town W. Gallaway Gallaway ) candidate vs Wm B. Wilson. Wilson ( Self Town ) ---------------------------------------- Sat 3d The morning is clear verry calm & warm Monk reported 5 days Monk 10 days) each Mule making 10 days this week Town ) I went to Town after dinner John D. Moore has come back to J D Moore ) Columbia his wife went after him (Thursday) they passed each other his wife has not got home yet I went to his house but Coffee did not git to see him. I got $2.00 worth Coffee 6 1/2 lbs Wm William has not got home from Giles County Monk reports 1 1/2 days work for each Mule making 3 days this week ----------------------------------------- 1869 ) The morning is clear calm & verry warm The weather has been July ( Sun 4th ) extreamly warm for the last week I see but little differences	307 -302- East of here & thundering looks like a good rain but none here We could hear it but none here.
