Dear Sir,
The present is to enquire of you if Genl. Graves has paid you any Money in part of the Bond due me, which is in your hands; At Guilford Superior Court he promised to make me a payment as soon as Mr Kerr returned from the West, since then I frequent ly wrote to him on the subject but he never favoured me with an answer; If he has not made you any payment, at the last Caswell County Court I have to request the favour of you to give get a new note with his Brother Azariah Graves or Elijah Graves or both as his Securities & extend the time of payment six months, or longer if necessary; as I think it will be safer to extend the time of payment with good securities than to institute a suit against him at the present time;
I understand Mr Murphey is gone to Tennessee pray does he intend to sell any of his lands there, and will there be any probability of his making any payment when he returns?

Dear Sir
I take the liberty to remind you of the deed in trust executed by Isaiah Holden to Saml Hillman, lest you should forget it, and if you should find it necessary, you can make use of the annexed order on Mr. Young. - will you be good enough to have some conversation with Doct. Webb & Adams & Turner, so as to ascertain if it will be necessary to have the testimony of Dr. Webb - if the attendance of the Doctor can safely be despensed with I should be unwilling to subject him to the trouble of attending our Court. - please also bring with you the file of papers taken from the Office last March in the suit "L. Gilliam vs Wm H Gilliam & others"
In haste yrs truly Tho. B. Littlejohn
