come to Reno, where he stops afor the present -- Evening, 1st appearance of "Peck's Bad Boy" company at the Opera House -- This si the 1st company Piper has had in his new theatre -- I was in and saw a little of it -- Very amusing -- that's all -- Unnatural, and not good -- Influence bad -- Bed at 2 1/2 -- The Combination pump broke Sunday night & once or twice since & the Hale & Norcross has been flooded in lower levels -- water rose to nearly the 2800 Pump all right again and water lowering fast --

Cloudy, with one or 2 light showers in the PM -- Evening the Col went to Carson & left Jim Townsend to fix up the telegraph for him, etc -- Through at 1 1/2 -- Bed at 3

Sunday May 10

The same -- Rose at 7 -- shaved -- took train at 8 -- lovely ride to Reno -- green trees, green grass and all that sort of thing -- Traveled on my pass for 1st time -- Reno at noon -- All right at home -- After dinner took walk with wife, Sam, Alf, & Bessie about town -- Bed at 9 1/2 --
