Same -- PM a few light showers -- Mining day -- Bed 2:30 -- clear

Saturday July 17

Same -- PM showers, and at 4 PM a grand cloudburst, the heaviest ever here -- rained fearfully & did much damage to houses & furniture throughout Va & Gold Hill, through flooding & mud -- Washout on railroad near [Julia?] mining works made train for Reno leave at 7 PM & the local from Reno arrive at 9:30 -- No big rain beyond Am Flat -- & not much north of this city -- special to the Comstock. Bed 3 --
