did into 2 1/2 gallons, therefore this is one quart the stronger -- Had to throw awat today all the cherries and blackberries I put up on the 17th of June, as they had soured & spoiled -- My other fruits hold good yet -- The strawberries I put up on the 17th did not do well and I ate most of them a week or two ago -- Kept flavor pretty well but got too soft -- Bed 2:30 --

Same -- PM showers, and at 4 PM a grand cloudburst, the heaviest ever here -- rained fearfully & did much damage to houses & furniture throughout Va & Gold Hill, through flooding & mud -- Washout on railroad near [Julia?] mining works made train for Reno leave at 7 PM & the local from Reno arrive at 9:30 -- No big rain beyond Am Flat -- & not much north of this city -- special to the Comstock. Bed 3 --
