Clear, blustering, & colder -- Thermometer fell about 30 degrees, between noon & midnight when it was 45 by Gilley's thermometer -- A really cold snap -- Eyes worse than ever this morning -- swollen terribly -- Went my mining rounds so as I could go to Carson tomorrow to Rep State Convention -- Wrote mining report accordingly tonight after got through & left it in office -- Took me till 4:30 -- Went home -- Bed at 5 -- having arranged with policeman to wake me up in time for morning train -- Laid down with clothes on -- Not much time for sleep -- Wrote short letter to wife -- Bed at 5:10

Friday Sept 24

Clear & pleasant -- Rose & left on 7:20 train for Carson -- Big crowd of delegates etc -- Republican State Convention -- Met at 1 PM -- Got as far as permanent organization at 4 PM & adj till 9 AM tomorrow -- Bed 2 --

Saturday Sept 25

Same -- called by policeman at 6 -- Went to Carson by morning train -- Got there in good time for convention -- Reported it -- telegraphed 3 or 4 times result to the Enterprise -- Stevenson nominated for Governor -- Convention through at 5:40 PM -- Took train for home -- found wife on board -- Va at 7:30 -- She went to room & I to office -- Bed at 1:30 -- weary --
