Slept till 9:30 -- Breakfast at home -- Wife walked to Gold Hill & back, as no 'bus runs Sunday -- She paid Jane Nobel $30 on account of what we owed her -- $100 at first -- Owe $45 now -- We dined at Chaumond's -- Saw he off on evening train -- Was about town -- Home at 10 -- At 2 PM I attended presentation of a $400 service of silver & gold to Rev Bishop Whitaker, at his residence by several Comstock friends, as he is to leave us to stay in Philadelphia herafter -- Bully good man -- Attended regular monthly meeting of Pacific Coast Pioneers at Hall this evening -- Wrote up all these items and went to bed at 4:30 --

Monday Sept 27

Clear & pleasant -- Rep County convention -- At Pipers Opera House -- reported it -- Commenced at 10:30 AM -- Taggart. our new editor. commenced today -- Bed 3 --

New Editor -- Lemon drill -- Banjo -- Wintry
Tuesday Sept 28

Same -- Took a walk up on side of Mt Davidson, in search of "Too-root" for this catarrh -- couldnt find any -- Mr Taggart the new editor on Enterprise started in yesterday -- Dont know as yet wheter I like him or not -- Good newspaper man -- At the corporation House I stopped in and had some fine banjo music -- Reveiced the "Centrifugal Lemon Drill" today -- from Prairie City Novelty Co Chicago Ill -- Bed at 2 --
