Morning snowing furiously -- windy & threatening, with heavy snowstorm in the Sierra, but little in the valley -- Took morning train for Carson -- Reported Legis-lature as usual -- Both Houses adjourned over at noon till Monday, each adopting resolutions of respect relative to the death of Hon Jerry Schooling, formerly State Treasurer, and also member of the Legislature from Washoe County who died in this city yesterday morning of apoplexy -- He was a native of Missouri, aged 54 years old, and leaves a wife & 2 or 3 children. Body sent to Reno tonight for funeral tomorrow -- PM I worked lively & got my Enterprise report & correspondence completed & in the

hands of the conductor of the evening train for Va -- After supper took evening ex-press train for Reno at 6:55 -- Went through on time -- All right at home -- Bed 10 -- No snow fell in Carson, & but little in Reno today -- Only 2 or 3 inches in Va --

Cloudy & threatening -- Wife & I took morning train for Va -- breakfast at French Rotisserie (Allen & Chaumonds) -- Went to room -- PM Dr Manson called on us short time -- I was about town attending to various matters -- also at Pioneer Hall awhile --
