Snow Carleton Opera Co "Erminie"
Dan drunk

Thursday April 14, 1887

Variable -- Early morning snow storm laid about an inch of snow to whiten the face
of the country -- A few light drizzles of rain during the day -- I was about town,
and in the evening attended the Pipers Opera House -- 3 act opera of "Erminie" -- by the
Carleton Opera Company -- 42 of them -- They played ("Nanon") last night -- "Drum
Major's Daughter" tomorrow night, and "Mikado" Saturday PM, closes their engagement --
"Erminie" tongiht very good indeed -- good house -- Bed at 1 -- Weather still threa-
tening -- Dan DeQuille got drunk again today for the first time since he has been
back in his old position as a local of the Enterprise --

Cloudy & cool -- About town -- Evening at theater -- "Drum Major's Daughter" -- Very
good -- Fair house -- Bed 11 --

Saturday April 16

Cloudy with several very light showers of rain & some little snow and hail in the
morning -- Frankel's cas was called in Dist Court at 10 AM today, on indictment No
4, embezzlement in having taken in $360 from Mrs Burke the afternoon before his
failure was announced -- The Dist Atty refused to prosecute -- The Evening Report says:
