The same -- About town as usual -- Not well -- got bad cold -- Evening I took look in
at the Odd Fellows ball, at NG Hall -- crowded -- grand time -- Hugh J Mohan was with
me -- Bed at 1 -- Mohan gave me some of the powder or snuff he is taking for catarrh --

Care for Catarrh and Hay fever

It is pulverized (borax & pulv. sugar) equal parts -- Only snuff or catarrh prepara-
tion that I ever took that did not make me sneeze -- He originated it -- It is very
good -- Also gave me a recipe to take next September to stave off the hay fever --
4 oz syrup of (shabarb), 20 grains quinine, pulverized -- mix-- Commence Sept 1
taking 1 oz every 3 hours, until it operates -- Then cease its use till next day,
and repeat -- "Cure inevitable" -- Got it from his mother --

Very Late Mail Centennial

Wednesday April 27

Same -- mail delayed 7 hours today, not arriving till 5 PM -- landslide on the CP
between Emigrant Gap & Blue Canyon on the Sierra -- Mail went back on time at 5:25
as usual -- I was about town with Mohan more or less -- PM the Centennial Trustees
held a meeting & overhauled the accounts of the company -- Myself, Gorham, & Kinzle
were present as committee -- Bed at 1 --

The same -- Mail on time -- I was about town in the PM -- Slept an hour or so in the
