Cold & raw with snow blizzards from the northward -- Three or four inches of snow fell, giving pretty fair sleighing which was taken advantage of by grocery deliverers etc -- PM I was about town -- Evening at theater -- I breakfasted with Jim Bell, brother of Frank Bell, at the Capitol Rotisserie -- on the toughest chicken I ever tackled -- broiled -- after the theater I supped with Jim Lowery at the French Rotisserie, on fried fresh shell oyster -- delicious -- Bed 3 --

Clear & freezing -- Was about town -- Evening same Co at the Opera House, played "The White Slave" to a slim audience -- I was there with Jim Lowery & Jack Long -- Supped with Jim afterward -- Bed 2 -- RK Allen manager of the Bankers & Merchants Mutual Life Association is in town -- Offers me agency for this State -- May take it --

Same -- About town a little on Insurance -- Bed 12 -- Sent back 1 doz catheters, rejected, to H P Wakelee & Co -- Very cold night -- Got 300 lbs Pleasant Valley coal from T H Smith & Co, Gold Hill, today -- lot per lb --
