Clear & Pleasant -- Took noon bus to Gold Hill -- Was up to W P Bennett's room for and hour or so, writing etc for him -- Paid me $2 for it -- Was at Army office -- got my new stock on the stock divident arrangement, 500 shares in one price and 493 shares in another -- 993 shares in all -- got also a small sack full of the gravel recently sent over from the new strike in the mine -- about 5 lbs -- Home on the 3:30 'bus -- About town -- Evening at Enterprise -- Bed 3 --

Friday June 5

Same -- Busy at room most of day fixing up big boxes etc -- Evening down town -- Dined with Frank Kearney at the French Rotisserie -- Bed at 12 -- The old Alta California, newspaper San F, suspended on Tuesday last for want of nourishment --
