Clear and pleasant, but cold -- St Patrick's Day -- No special observance -- Received following telegram: Washington, D.C. March 16, 1894 Alfred Doten Esq, Virginia City, Nevada. Would be glad to have a review of the Comstock to date, but the appropriation is very limited. What would be your charge for preparing such an article. RE Preston, Director of the Mint. I replied as follows: "Same as to your predecessor -- one hundred dollars. As good or better. How soon required." Evening about town -- Bed 1 -- clear & cold --
