Cloudy & cooler -- Sent letter to Alfie in response to the $5 -- Bed 12 --

Tuesday March 27

Same -- Dr R Webber died at San Jose this morning -- Known him personally and well on the Comstock ever since I have been here -- He was the last survivor of the old time doctors -- Bryarly, McMeans, Bronson, Kirby, Hiller, Green, Guffin, Cleburne, Gaston, Atchison, et al -- all dead but Dr J U Hall now in San Jose, who removed from Gold Hill there several years ago -- Webber left some weeks ago with his wife for S.J. for his health -- 72 yrs old -- breaking down from long use, etc -- Dr Harris still here one of the old times also -- so he may be termed the last survivor -- Dr P Manson a later old timer yet here in Va -- also Dr Packer -- Bed 12 --
