Same -- Plenty of white frost this morning -- Quite a number of men have been visiting Silver Lake mining District 35 or 40 miles from here where the Buckeye gold placers are, prospecting, locating, or looking out for their interests in that section -- Oliver Roberts came up from SF day before yesterday & went straight there with Fred Sargent, looking out for their claims -- they returned this PM. Another load of supplies, with 1/2 a dozen men went out there day before yesterday -- Quite a stir in the Buckeye boom -- I was not troubled with chills this PM, nor yesterday, & feel better -- Bed at 12 -- frosty. The smallpox is officially declared cured & gone from the Indian School -- There were 24 cases in all -- Today is 20th anniversary of Big fire at Va, Oct 26, 1875.

Sunday Oct 27

Same -- PM & evening much out of sorts and sore in bones from bad cold & cough -- Bed 10 -- No chills --

Monday Oct 28

Clear & pleasant -- Evening attended Consolidation of the two Carson lodges I.O.O.F. -- About 100 present, many from Va, Silver, Dayton, etc -- was at banquet afterward, & made little speech among others -- Bed 1 -- Carson No 4, & Capitol No 20 consol into Capitol No 4 -- I had a sweet dream of wife and home tonight --
