Stormy -- Commenced raining about noon steadily -- changed to snow toward evening -- Dr Bronson was out with his cutter by dark, First big snow and first sleighing of the season -- Home from office at 2 -- snow 9 inches deep and still snowing -- Bed 3 --

The same -- Snowed more or less till about noon -- A foot deep -- PM thawy with little snow in the air -- Lots of cutters out -- Gold Hill 'bus on runners -- Work as usual -- Wrote & sent letter to Sam Crescengo, Austin, on stocks -- Wires down today till 3 PM when 2 wires worked to San F & the East -- & a few dispatches got through -- wires worked bad -- Home from office at 2 1/2 raining lightly -- very sloppy -- Bed 3 1/2 --

Same -- Snowed some more in the morning & rained some -- PM the clouds broke about 4 oclock but a sort of hazy fog set in which obscured the sun & also the moon in the evening & night -- thawy -- rivers and canyons & gulches all running full --
