the "scowler", or send it to me, --
"for private reasons" of my own. Now
Harry I have always been allowed
to have my own way, and if you
wish to keep in my good favor
you will oblige me in this,
Truly. I shall be vexed if you do

I could write in a year would
not cheer her so much as a few
from you, her only and loved son
would, I saw when I was there
that her heart ached continually
with anxiety for you, and that
she looked each day with longing
eyes for a letter, too fearful of a
disappointment to ask, but she
would say to me when I went with
Lue -- "Nellie bring me a letter," -- "I'll try"
