New York
Nov. 13, 1915.

Honorable William Spry,
Governor of Utah,
Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dear Sir:-

I trust, as do all right-thinking people, that you will
use your good judgment and pardon the unfortunate John Hill, who
has been convicted of murder. I need not tell you that there is
little evidence for his conviction. I also realize what an ordeal
it is for a man to be obliged to pass judgment on his fellow-men,
and I therefore implore you to be just and set free this innocent
man.
