We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, are if is too late, hasten to inform your excellency that we emphatically consider the proposed execution of October first, of our brother Joe Hill--delierate murder, a blow of liberty and a crime against the working class of the United States.

We cannot but believe that he is being railroaded to his death by the enemies of labor, and we hereby demand that you exercise the power of pardon in his behalf.
