JANUARY 2

Sat. 19 Wrote letters & took them to box. Cold & snowing, Wendy took baby's picture.

Sun 19 To church - Communion. Joan & Hugh here for dinner. To McPherson's - very nice - saw many people. Rosie here with Anne.

Mon. 19 Arrived 9. Breakfast on train. I to mail & Anne to mice. Wrote letters all day & unpacked. Dinner on a tray with Anne. Washed clothes.

Wed 19 Bright & cold. Maids all back. D. & I washed in Bend[ix?]. Talked, read to children & played with them. Bruce & Mary out, rest talked.

Thu 19 Snowing. Donald et al went home. Letter from Mary. Shopped & fixed dress.

JANUARY 3

Sun 1954 Bathed baby, packed, Cold. very crowded train. Home at 6. Anne & Hugh fine.

Mon. 19 Worked in Univ. Lib. Dry & cool. Anne at home for lunch. Poured at Luella's tea for Phyllis. Very nice - many of my friends there.

Tues 19 Term opened. Very busy with mail & people in & out. Dinner at Union. Letter from Mary. Slush & mild.

Thu. 19 Packing, great rushing around. D. & Wendy got off. Bruce to Thornhill, Mary, Joan children & I lunched at Mac's. Cates's left. Dinner with Anne B.

Fri. 19 To Library. Miss West here. Served, wrote letters etc. Letters & phone calls.

JANUARY 4

Mon 19 Anne & Hugh to classes. I to bank, store, P.O., straightened house. Anne washed.

Tues. 19 Typed notes, shopped. Rosie here. Wrote letters. Raining.

Wed. 19 Worked on telephone bills & library fund all day. Mr. Cunningham, chaplains called. Dinner here. Anne at a shower.

Fri. 19 Snowing hard. Union very quiet. Typed on Jamaic[?] Had my hair done & to bank Two letters from Anne.

Sat 19 To Sellers-Gough & bought grey Persian lamb coat. To tea at Alex Bradys'. Very cold - 4o. Miss Jardine back

JANUARY 5

Tues. 19 To Univ. Lib. & downtown To tea at Grace Baker's with. Frances Gordon. Supper at Luella's with Joan & Hugh.

Wed. 19 Shopped & to bank at St. Clair. Letters & pictures from Mary, letter from D. To Symphony in evening.

Thu. 19 Downtown & got soap & things for Anne. Busy in office. Dinner in Falconer. To Univ. Library.

Sat. 19 Downtown briefly. Very quiet here. Typed all day on D's thesis. Snowing. Some girls came back.

Sun 19 To church - Communion. Joan & Hugh here for dinner. Cold. Wrote letters. Many coming back.

JANUARY 6

Wed. 19 Worked on Fur Trade bibliog. at home. To Symphony with Lois & to Ryerson Practice House for coffee.

19 Working on Milton & Cheadle book. Mild. To store. Anne home for lunch.

Fri 19 To Scholarship Com. & Council Meeting. Anne Dalton here to show me ring. To Alison Mitchell's to see Alice Kemp - Laura, Freda, Bea etc. there.

19 To church - Communion Snowing. Typing hard. Girls coming in slowly. meals on trays.

19 Term begins. 2 new girls come into 94. Many in & out. Letter from Anne. Dinner Mulock.
