JANUARY 12

Tues 19 Below zero. To Univ. Lib early with Anne & Hugh. Anne & I to see duplex on Bedford. To dinner in Hart House for Arthur Cole.

Wed. 19 Luella here. Anne here for lunch. Heard "Don Giovanni" on C.B.C very good. My cold better.

19 To dentist. Cold & dry. Letters from Hugh & Mary. Working on telephone bill & estimates. Dad Innis died - Lil phoned. I phoned Donald.

Sat. 19 Got passport picture taken. Typing. Snowing. 2 letters from Anne from Dar es Salaam. Dinner at Cody. Hugh called up.

19 To Jewish service at Hart House. To Hugh's for dinner. Cold & bright. Tea here. Reading "Not by Bread Alone" - Russian novel.

JANUARY 13

Wed 19 Stayed in with cold. Sorted papers in steamer trunk. Reading "Medieval Oxford."

Thu. 19 Alan Cairns came. He & Anne talked all day. I to lunch at U.W.C with Grace & Frances. Tea here - Laura, Luella, Joyce, Kay McPh etc. nice time.

Fri. 19 Phoned D. again. Sent flowers to Otterville. Miss West, Jardine & I went over "sheets". Anne & Alan to wedding.

Sun. 19 Very cold 1o. To Jewish service at Hart House - very beautiful. Hugh's for dinner, Alec Brady's for tea. Typed.

Mon. 19 Letter from Anne. To library. Busy in office. Dinner at Falconer.

JANUARY 14

Thu 19 Clark, Jane W. & I worked on Fur Trade. Took apt at 112 Bedford Rd. Sorting books & Anne & Hugh sorting records.

Fri 19 To bank & to Majorie Campbell's for lunch. Very nice. Worked on book. Mild. Called up Hugh.

19 Anne & I in Anne Bolgan's car to Otterville to Dad's funeral Dinner at Kerby House. After service tea at Hughena's & saw everybody. Lovely weather.

Mon. 19 1o below zero. Residence Council met. To U.C. wives club - Mrs. McCullough spoke on Relaxation.

Tues. 19 Busy with people dropping in & many applications. Downtown.

Fri. 19 In all day with cold. Typed Fur trade notes & sorted papers. Heard pop concert. Cold. Luella for tea

Sat. 19 To library & shopped. Anne in with cold. Silka cleaned. Heard "Marriage of Figaro" on radio.

Sun. 19 Sunny, mild day. Jean Whittemore took Lois, John & me to Guild of All Arts dinner. Lake very blue. I poured tea. Anne & I to Hart House recital.

Tues. 19 Worked on "Sheets." Very cold. Letter from Anne from Dar es Salaam. Dinner at Mulock.

Wed 19 To library. Mild. Residence Council met.

Sat 19 Worked on Newf. & baked. All to new apt. & measured rooms. Milder. A. & H. both out.

Sun 19 To church. Tea for Keirsteads, Britnells & Elliotts Joan & Hugh, Anne Dalton here in evening. Tired.

Mon 19 Busy in office. Dons' meeting. Went to Bank. Miss West & I to hear B. Fairley speak on "Heine".

Wed. 19 Scholarship Tea - I received. Crowds there. Cold. With Lois to Symphony. Mischa Elman played. Letter from Donald.

Thu 19 Principal's Com met all morning. to U.C. to see lockers. Dinner at Cody. Ian Macdonald there.
