We take this opportunity to send you our thanks for your several letters by Loney, Cant & Bradly. And to let you know we have made the best returns we could for your professions of kindness towards us. For tho' crops are very short particularly ours, at least 100 hhds of what it was last year. We have sent you twenty hhds in the Rebecah, thirty in the Burwell, ten in the Spotswood, five in Loney, twenty in Waff, & three hhds in the Micajah & Phillip, amounting to eighty eight hhds besides what we shall send by the Bailey. As this years consignment is like to be the last that you will have on accot. of our fathers Estate, we must desire that you will take the first good opportunity to dispose of the tobo. and transmit us an acct. currt. that we may be able to go on in the discharging of the legacies and to make a division of the remainder of his personal estate to the residuary legacies.

The drafts which we have already made for these purposes have been chiefly on the outports that we might give you and our friend Mr. Dawkins as little trouble as possible, however having been obliged to pay away between four & five thousand pounds in legacies and other expenses, we could not avoid drawing some bills of exchange of each of you. One we drew on you payable to Lady Susannah Randolph for four hundred & fifty six pounds three shilling & four pence, before the arrival of her husband, who being now come, we suppose it must be altered & made payable to himself. And
