To Messieurs Oswalds
Corotomon Aug.31.1738.

Sir,
I have so just a sense of you kindness for Dr. Nicholas's Remains, that I am very uneasy I have not been able to discharge his Debt to you without giving you the trouble to demand it, and I have not Writ to Mr. John Hanbury Mercht. of London, to whom the small crop made on his Estate has for some years been Consign'd to pay to such person as you shall direct to receive it, the sum of two hundred & Fifty nine pounds ten shillings sterling. If this be complied with, your agent in London must give Mr. Hanbury a Receipt discharging me as Executor to the Doctor, for all debts & demands whatsoever. But if it should happen Contrary to my expectation, & that Mr. Hanbury should refuse to comply with my Desire, I can only say that I am sorry I have not been able to take a better Method and in such case I desire that you will apply the Balance that shall be due to me on the sale off my last years 9 Hhds. (Hogheads/tobacco) to the credit Doct. Nicholas's Estates accot. and I do hereby oblidge my self to pay you the Remainder of it, the one half next year, & the other half the year following. It will be proper to let me hear from you concerning this affair with Mr. Hanbury as soon as possible that I may know how to take my Measures, and if in the mean time, or at any time hereafter, you can make a composition with my Lady Nairn or my Lord
