themselves to erect a building suitable for a depot on con-
dition that they furnish an agent and make the agency per-
manent. Motion adopted.
On motion, T. H. Pritchard, W. T. Walters & J. S. Purefoy
an appointed a Committee to confer with the authorities
at Washington in regard to the establishment of a
Post Office at the College, provided the way is opened.
The sale of two lots to Dr. Brooks, in the part
of the College by J. S. Purefoy & W. T. Walters, on the basis
of an exchange, approved & confirmed.
Proposition of Dr. S. A. Taylor to purchase land east
of the R. R. not acceded to for the present.
The Execution Committee for the ensuing year an:
W. T. Brooks, J. S. Purefoy, W. T. Walters, T. H. Pritchard and
A. R. Vann.
On motion of W. H. Avera, the sale and donation
of lots belonging to the College are to be left to the
discretion of the Exec. Com.
Dr. Wingate's expenses to the Philadelphia Convention
ordered to be paid.
June 26.
On motion, the Faculty are empowered to decide
hereafter upon the propriety of any of their number
travelling in the interests of the College and the payment
of their travelling expenses is to be based upon such decision.
On motion of Dr. Walters, the treasurer is ordered
to borrow money, if necessary, to settle promptly the
claims of the Faculty against the College.
The Execution Committee, in connexion with the
Faculty, are entrusted with the duty of making provision
for the Preparatory Department for another session.
Prof. Simmons, Bursar of the College, read his report which
was adopted. Receipts $7867.62; Disbursements $7770.35; Balance $97.27
Recommendations of the Com. on Campus & Building
deferred to 3 o'clock.
