The chairs in both rooms were the plainest oak
chairs.

On the table No. 1 much of his meteorological work
was done and maps were made - It has now
been made over into a pedestal for a bust made
and given to us by John Marr in Munich.

On table no. 2 much of his fine drawing, for which he
was famous, was done.

I did not inherit my father's talent or I could have
sent you some thing better - I am sending boxes
of the pages of his drawings of grasses of the U.S. which is marked
"to be returned"-
