Slight frost last night
River flooded the island &
higher than I ever saw it
before. In Count till late
Clements v G.W.R. going on.

SATURDAY, 18.
Very mild & awfully muddy.
[crossed out] River astonishingly high.
Mr Pease out in the evening, when
we finished the "ile" business

SUNDAY, 19.
Beautiful day. Roads very muddy.
Morning service with Co & Flo.
Walked into town with Crawford
in afternoon. Heard that Morkin
had found Jack

MONDAY, MARCH 20, 1865.
Roads very muddy.
Started for Chatham at
7p.m. on the Bothwell
business. Saw Jack out
Morkins all right before going
off & told Skellington to take
him home returing from station.

TUESDAY, 21.
Rain during the whole
day at intervals. Did all
my business in Chatham
& left at 8.27 p.m. for home
where I arrived at about 11.30.
very tired

WEDNESDAY, 22
Very stormy wind from west &
sleet in afternoon. Heaps of work
in the office. Jack all
right & at home.
